On November 15, 2024, in Trieste, the National Day of Romania and the 145th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Romania and Italy were celebrated with a prestigious reception at the Savoia Excelsior Palace Hotel. The event was organized by the Consulate General of Romania in Trieste and the Honorary Consulate General of Romania in Treviso.
A special thanks goes to Consul General Adina Lovin, whose extraordinary commitment and leadership made this celebration possible, highlighting the strong bonds of cooperation and friendship between Romania and Italy.
In her speech, Consul General Adina Lovin emphasized the historical significance of the Great Union on December 1, 1918, a pivotal event in the creation of modern Romania. She also highlighted the deep historical and cultural affinities uniting Romania and Italy, as well as the shared values at the European and international levels. The Consul thanked the Italian authorities for their excellent collaboration with the Consulate and for the support provided in organizing the three electoral processes conducted this year. Lastly, she addressed the Romanian community, assuring them of the Consulate General's full support for consular assistance, protection, and the development of joint projects aimed at promoting Romanian cultural values and Romania's image in Italy. She also underlined the fundamental role of the Romanian community in Italy, which is well-integrated and appreciated for its significant contribution to the development of bilateral relations.
A delegation from the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania attended the event, including President Roberto Musneci, Vice President Pasquale Silvestro, Dr. Roberto Falato, and Secretary General Giovanni Pometti, who contributed to this important moment of bilateral celebration.
