CCIpR at the Ministry of Labor Conference: Improving Employment Quality and Global Collaboration for Italian Companies in Romania

An important event dedicated to skills development and employment quality took place on April 3rd in Bucharest, promoted under the high patronage of the Embassy of Italy in Bucharest, the Romanian Ministry of Labor, and Adecco Romania, with an approach focused on economic diplomacy.

The initiative represented a moment of dialogue between Italian, Romanian, and European institutions, aiming to share best practices and jointly address the challenges posed by a rapidly transforming labor market, increasingly in need of technical specializations and new skills.

The event was opened by H.E. Alfredo Durante Mangoni, Ambassador of Italy to Bucharest, Minister of Labor Simona Bucur Oprescu, and Luca Niculescu, State Secretary at the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Coordinator for Romania's OECD accession process. The keynote speaker, Stefano Scarpetta, Director for Employment, Labour, and Social Affairs at the OECD, presented the OECD standards on employment policies. Massimo Temussi, Director-General for the Labour Market at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, outlined a project currently under development between the OECD and Italy aimed at strengthening public-private partnerships in employment services, with potential implications for Romania.

During one of the panels, our President Roberto Musneci emphasized the key role of workforce training as a strategic factor for attracting foreign direct investment and supporting the competitiveness of Italian companies operating in Romania.
